Family-run gem of a hotel  - Initially had hoped for Cervinia but so pleased to have found space in this lovely hotel. Just a couple of kilometres down the valley from Valtournenche, a lovely ski resort... read more that links nicely to Cervinia.
The hotel was fantastic, Marco and his parents are brilliant hosts, so welcoming and positive. They run a superb operation. The hotel ski bus every morning takes all hassle away from being slighlty out of town and Marco is happy to be called to collect when needed. Everyone eats dinner at the same time which is a nice friendly touch and there is a choice for each course. The food was a delight and being offered more once we'd eaten up is something all hungry skiers appreciate!
If you're considering Cervinia then don't miss staying here instead. Valtournenche is less effected by wind than Cervinia and was open when the bigger resort was closed due to high winds.
Cant recommend this place enough. We met people who were returning for their 10th year! Says it all.

  Be part of Marco's family at Punta C1an - We have stayed with the Gorret family at Punta Cian many times since 2003. They have always treated us as friends of the family, providing an excellent welcome, good... read more straight forward food, excellent comfortable accommodation, and anything we needed to make our trip complete. And now they even have a minibus to take you to the Valtournenche lift (5mins), so you don't need a car or the service bus.
If you want an excellent value for money, chilled out skiing holiday and you want to rest in the evenings rather than party, this is the place for you. You can ski from Vatournenche, where lift queues are rare and pistes uncrowded, all the way to Zermatt and back (providing you get up early enough in the morning!!)

Marco and his family... read more (the father omnipresent in the bar department and the mother, an excellent cook who always reminds me of how my grandmother cooked) have put all their energy, but above all their passion into everyday life.
You forget that you are a guest because they truly make you feel like you are at home.
A special mention to the chef for the exceptional tiramisu and Russian salad which, in my opinion, can beat starred chefs!!!
